Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain detailed logs of all incidents and communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (EMS, Fire, Hospitals) during emergencies
- Provide critical information to field officers and responding units
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and computer dispatch consoles
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- Tennessee residency required upon certification
- No felony convictions
