Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police units using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers and officers
- Operate radio equipment and communication technology
- Remain calm and professional under high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to type 40+ words per minute
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and clean background check
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Pass pre-employment physical and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer literacy and tech aptitude
