Responsibilities
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS units during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Utilize radio systems to relay critical information to field units
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and protocol standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Texas driver's license at time of appointment
