Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911, radio, and digital channels
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement/fire/EMS units using CAD systems
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incident details
- Coordinate with regional agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Operate radio equipment and specialized public safety software
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask
- Clear verbal communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
- Must complete 6-month academy training upon hire
