Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and accuracy
- Dispatch police units and emergency services using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and incident reports
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-agency responses
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Residency in Alaska required (remote-friendly training with occasional on-site drills)
