Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and professionalism
- Operate radio systems to dispatch police units and emergency services
- Enter and update information in CAD systems with precision
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-stress situations
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in medical emergencies
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Document all communications accurately and confidentially
- Participate in continuous training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer literacy and technical aptitude
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Texas driver's license (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
