Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police units with precision
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Monitor radio channels and surveillance systems to ensure public safety
- Complete mandatory training programs to become fully certified
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication (verbal/written) and conflict resolution abilities
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Kentucky
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
