Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, medical) based on protocols
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and emergency notification tools
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during large-scale incidents
- Adhere to all federal, state, and departmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Basic typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and legal right to work
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning technical systems
