Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to dispatch police units efficiently
- Maintain detailed records in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide critical instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-incident responses
- Monitor surveillance systems and radio traffic for critical incidents
- Perform data entry and report generation with precision
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Nevada driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified by test)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Must pass hearing and vision examinations
