Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD systems
- Provide critical pre-arrival medical instructions to callers
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Operate multiple communication technologies simultaneously
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Complete 12-week paid academy training program
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- US citizenship or legal resident status
- No felony convictions
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Basic computer proficiency
