Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, gathering critical information from callers
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Enter and update information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-stress situations and provide clear instructions
- Adhere to all department policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
- Complete all training modules and demonstrate proficiency in core competencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire department, and medical personnel
- Document all call activities and incident details accurately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid Arizona driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (test administered during application process)
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions under pressure
- No criminal record (felony convictions disqualify)
- Must be available to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
