Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritizing incidents based on urgency and protocols
- Dispatch appropriate police, fire, and EMS resources using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation in compliance with NIMS standards
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during complex emergencies
- Operate radio systems and specialized communication equipment
- Participate in continuous training drills and scenario simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum 18 years of age with US citizenship
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn CAD systems
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
