Responsibilities

  • Receive and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls (911 and non-emergency lines).
  • Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incident scenes using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls, incidents, and officer status.
  • Monitor police radio frequencies, CCTV systems, and electronic maps to coordinate unit deployments.
  • Provide critical information to responding officers and coordinate with other agencies.
  • Assist in training new dispatchers and maintaining departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports and managing inventory of supplies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly under pressure.
  • Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 wpm is preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
