Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls (911 and non-emergency lines).
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incident scenes using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls, incidents, and officer status.
- Monitor police radio frequencies, CCTV systems, and electronic maps to coordinate unit deployments.
- Provide critical information to responding officers and coordinate with other agencies.
- Assist in training new dispatchers and maintaining departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports and managing inventory of supplies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Nevada Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly under pressure.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 wpm is preferred).
- Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
