Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police units, fire departments, and medical services with precision and urgency
- Enter/update critical information in CAD/RMS databases accurately and efficiently
- Maintain radio communication protocols with field units during high-stress situations
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Collaborate with cross-agency responders during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Document all call activities and maintain detailed incident logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Tennessee driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified by assessment)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multitasking skills in high-pressure environments
- Clear verbal communication and active listening abilities
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Office applications
