Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical units to appropriate locations using the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all incoming calls, dispatches, and unit status updates.
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers to ensure their safety and the safety of responders.
- Coordinate with other public safety agencies and emergency management personnel during major incidents.
- Monitor radio frequencies for officer status and unit availability.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must possess a valid, current Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
