Responsibilities
- Monitor law enforcement radio frequencies for emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Receive and process 911 and non-emergency calls with accuracy, speed, and empathy.
- Dispatch appropriate police, fire, and EMS units to incident scenes using established protocols.
- Update and maintain accurate digital and written records of calls, officer activities, and status reports.
- Communicate effectively with field units, hospital staff, and other emergency service agencies.
- Provide critical information to incoming callers and coordinate scene safety.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
- Basic typing skills with a focus on data entry accuracy (minimum 35 WPM).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional under high-pressure and stressful situations.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
