Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and process emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio communications equipment with precision
- Dispatch appropriate emergency units using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Maintain accurate incident logs and confidential records per department protocols
- Provide critical information to first responders and coordinate inter-agency communications
- Remain composed during high-stress situations while making rapid decisions
- Complete mandatory training programs to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in typing (minimum 40 WPM) and basic computer skills
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening abilities
- Must be a U.S. citizen and Missouri resident at time of hire
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Valid Missouri driver's license with acceptable driving record
