Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with calm professionalism
- Dispatch police units using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and records
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-incident scenarios
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication technology
- Remain composed under extreme pressure during crisis situations
Qualifications
- No experience required – training provided!
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (testing required post-interview)
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Strong emotional control during high-stress scenarios
- Basic computer literacy and tech aptitude
- Valid New York State driver's license
