Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police units, fire, and medical resources with precision and urgency
- Maintain accurate real-time status of all field units and resources
- Enter and update critical information in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in crisis situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Document all communications and actions according to department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English (Spanish or other languages highly valued)
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
