Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate resources between multiple agencies during emergencies
- Participate in continuous training on protocols and procedures
- Remain calm and professional under high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Clear criminal background check and drug screen
- Strong communication and multitasking abilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Pass psychological evaluation and voice stress test
