Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls using multi-line telephone systems
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software and radio communications equipment
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and actions taken
- Provide clear, concise information to emergency responders during critical incidents
- Participate in scenario-based training to develop crisis management skills
- Collaborate with cross-agency personnel during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 18
- Ability to pass background investigation, psychological evaluation, and drug screening
- Exceptional communication skills with clear diction under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and aptitude for learning specialized software
- Ability to multitask and make critical decisions in high-stress situations
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- No prior criminal convictions or history of domestic violence
