Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and prioritize emergency dispatches with precision
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Maintain detailed incident logs and documentation per department protocols
- Provide clear, concise instructions to field units during critical incidents
- Utilize multi-channel communication systems (radio, phone, digital)
- Collaborate with cross-agency responders during multi-jurisdictional events
- Undergo rigorous training in emergency medical dispatch and crisis intervention
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Exceptional situational judgment under high-pressure conditions
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor convictions
