Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems with accuracy and urgency
- Dispatch appropriate police units and other emergency services to incident locations
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to officers in the field using radio and digital communication tools
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-incident scenarios
- Remain calm under high-pressure situations while making critical decisions
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Basic typing proficiency (40+ WPM) and computer literacy
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Strong multitasking abilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Clear communication skills and ability to speak distinctively
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Tennessee driver's license with good driving record
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
