Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with exceptional speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems during emergency situations
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate radio equipment and maintain communication protocols
- Perform data entry and administrative duties in compliance with department standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of hire
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Successfully complete dispatcher certification training program
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under extreme pressure
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish candidates strongly encouraged)
