Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communications with field units during critical incidents
- Input and update case information in law enforcement databases with precision
- Operate multi-line phone systems, emergency notification platforms, and surveillance equipment
- Adhere to NENA/NGA protocols for emergency call handling and crisis management
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Document all communications and actions per departmental standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Florida Driver's License (Class E minimum)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Windows OS
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingualism highly valued)
- No felony convictions and clean employment history
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
