Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 100% accuracy
- Coordinate resources and dispatch appropriate units during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies during multi-jurisdictional operations
- Perform routine checks of field units and equipment status
- Adhere to all NIMS and NJSP protocols during crisis management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid NJ Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification within 6 months
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Exceptional communication skills under high-pressure conditions
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- US citizenship and valid NJ driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
