Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently and accurately
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and maintain radio protocols
- Utilize mapping software for precise location tracking
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Strong communication and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- No felony convictions; clean driving record preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen and reside within 50 miles of Omaha
