Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls via radio, telephone, and computer systems
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents and communications using CAD software
- Provide critical information and instructions to officers in the field
- Coordinate resources during emergencies and multi-agency situations
- Operate specialized communication equipment per department protocols
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress scenarios
- Complete comprehensive training program to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age of 18
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with clear diction
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized software
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Must reside within Wisconsin (remote training options available)
