Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Operate radio communication systems for police, fire, and EMS units
- Utilize CAD systems to log incident details and dispatch resources
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Adhere to all departmental policies and NIMS protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Strong typing proficiency (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer literacy and technical aptitude
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Must be 18+ years of age
