Responsibilities
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to communicate with patrol units, emergency responders, and other agencies
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls, dispatch appropriate personnel based on protocols
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications, incidents, and officer activities
- Utilize CAD systems to track unit locations and manage real-time incident updates
- Provide critical information to officers during field operations and emergency situations
- Remain calm and professional under extreme pressure during critical incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural guidelines for all communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- U.S. citizenship and valid New York State driver's license
- Ability to type 35+ WPM with high accuracy
- Exceptional communication skills and clear diction
- Ability to multitask and make critical decisions rapidly
- No prior experience necessary – comprehensive training provided
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Must reside within commuting distance of NYC for occasional in-person training
