Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and prioritize emergency responses using CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate with patrol units, EMS, and fire departments during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate incident logs and follow-up reports
- Operate radio communications equipment during high-pressure situations
- Assist in training new dispatchers on department protocols
- Adhere to NYS Public Safety Telecommunications standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Valid NYS driver's license (required within 6 months)
- Typing minimum 40 WPM (certification test required)
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- US citizenship or permanent residency status
- Clear speaking voice and calm demeanor under stress
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
