Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate police units using provided equipment
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation using department software
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Monitor radio channels and security systems 24/7
- Complete all certification requirements within training period
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Must pass medical and psychological evaluations
