Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls via radio and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Operate multi-line telephones, radio equipment, and GPS mapping tools
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel
- Assist in training and development as a dispatcher trainee
- Utilize provided equipment including headsets, consoles, and specialized software
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and minimum age 18
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Clear communication skills and typing proficiency (minimum 40 WPM)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer literacy and technical aptitude
- No felony convictions
