Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to dispatch police units efficiently
- Provide critical information to officers during active incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies (Fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Undergo rigorous training in crisis communication protocols
- Perform data entry and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required (college preferred)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends/holidays
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application)
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure emergency situations
- Valid California driver's license (Class C)
- Pass thorough background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
