Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems with precise location details and threat assessments
- Maintain real-time radio communication with field units during critical incidents
- Enter/update incident data into RMS with accuracy and timeliness
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during fires, medical emergencies, and disasters
- Provide life-saving pre-arrival instructions to callers in crisis
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer systems simultaneously under pressure
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and WA residency
- Pass background check, polygraph, and drug screen
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM (verified test required)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
- Must pass hearing and vision tests
