Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and process incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls, units dispatched, and incident details.
- Monitor law enforcement radio frequencies and CCTV systems to ensure officer safety and situational awareness.
- Provide critical information to responding officers and request additional resources as needed.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel during the trainee program.
- Maintain professional composure and high situational awareness during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License with a satisfactory driving record.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal permanent resident status.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including a polygraph examination and psychological evaluation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively and remain calm under pressure.
