Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls via telephone and radio.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to the appropriate locations using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of all communications, incidents, and resource allocation.
- Monitor radio frequencies and surveillance equipment to detect emergencies and unit status.
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers to ensure their safety until responders arrive.
- Collaborate with other emergency service agencies to coordinate large-scale events or mutual aid responses.
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry and report generation.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining focus in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Typing proficiency (minimum 35 WPM preferred).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
