Responsibilities
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio communications during emergency/non-emergency situations
- Process 911 calls, prioritize incidents, and dispatch appropriate emergency units
- Maintain accurate records of all communications in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies during critical incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during medical emergencies or crisis situations
- Monitor multiple radio channels simultaneously while maintaining situational awareness
- Adhere to strict protocols for sensitive information confidentiality
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older at time of hire
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred)
- Valid Florida driver's license
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
