Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate radio communication equipment per department protocols
- Perform data entry and record maintenance in compliance with policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application)
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Valid Louisiana driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
