Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and compassion
- Dispatch police units and other emergency services using CAD systems
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to field personnel during ongoing operations
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Utilize NCIC databases for warrant checks and suspect information
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during major incidents
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized software
- Clear speaking voice with ability to articulate information accurately
- Alaska residency required (or willingness to relocate)
