Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services units to incident locations.
- Maintain precise computer-aided dispatch (CAD) logs and records of all communications.
- Monitor and update the status of field units in real-time to ensure officer safety and efficiency.
- Provide vital information, instructions, and support to citizens and responding personnel.
- Assist with the collection of preliminary crime reports and information from callers.
- Remain composed and professional under high-pressure and stressful conditions.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute (test will be administered).
- Clear criminal background check, drug screen, and physical exam.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
