Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to the correct location using CAD systems.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls and dispatches.
- Communicate effectively with field units via radio and telephone.
- Monitor and update status information for emergency units in the field.
- Provide information and assistance to citizens, including directions and community resources.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing and data entry as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at a minimum of 35-40 words per minute.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- Must be available to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Basic computer proficiency is preferred.
