Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and dispatch police/fire/EMS units
- Enter and maintain detailed information in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Remain calm during critical incidents while providing clear instructions to callers
- Adhere to department policies and confidentiality protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and medical agencies
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing minimum of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
