Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate radio systems to dispatch officers and resources efficiently
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Utilize CAD systems for real-time tracking of units and incidents
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during multi-jurisdictional emergencies
- Remain calm and professional under high-pressure crisis situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and typing ability (30+ WPM preferred)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in fast-paced environments
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Must pass written and oral entrance examinations
