Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and efficiency
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio equipment
- Dispatch appropriate personnel (police, fire, EMS) to emergency scenes
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during active incidents
- Remain calm under pressure during high-stress emergency situations
- Adhere to all department policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Texas Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (test required)
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
