Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police officers, fire units, and medical personnel to incidents
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and emergency alert protocols
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Complete mandatory recertification and training programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Type minimum 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Successfully complete dispatcher training academy
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress situations
- Basic computer proficiency and multitasking ability
- Must be US citizen or legal permanent resident
