Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and telephone equipment with precision
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers and field units during emergencies
- Coordinate with multiple agencies including fire, EMS, and neighboring jurisdictions
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress situations
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum age 18 years at time of hire
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clear diction
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized dispatch software
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
