Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using multi-channel radio systems
- Maintain precise incident documentation and activity logs
- Utilize NCIC/VCIN databases for warrant/background checks
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via emergency medical protocols
- Operate specialized communication equipment during high-stress scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 18 years of age with US citizenship
- Pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed ≥ 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- Experience in customer service or emergency communications preferred
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
