Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Enter and maintain critical incident data in RMS databases
- Maintain situational awareness during active emergencies
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-incident responses
- Adhere to all FCC regulations and department protocols
- Provide post-incident documentation and follow-up support
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid DC driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Basic computer literacy and technical aptitude
- No criminal history of violence or dishonest offenses
