Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units and emergency services efficiently
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-jurisdictional responses
- Operate radio equipment and monitoring systems
- Complete all required training modules for certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Clear criminal background and drug screen
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency
- Must pass civil service examination
- Valid Texas driver's license
